About Us

Cooper's Gem Stone Mine is a fun and educational tourist attraction located in historical Blountville, TN. Miners may come to our facility to sluice authentic mine ore.  We offer a variety of buckets that miners may choose from to sluice at our 300 foot onsite flume. When you find it, you keep it! What is possible to find? Several types of  multi-colored quartz, emeralds, garnets and a other gems and minerals.  Cooper's Gem Stone Mine welcomes individuals, families, small or large groups, company picnics, family reunions and anniversary or birthday celebrations.

Group Rates

Cooper's Gem Stone Mine accepts reservation for scheduled groups. Our group rates begin with 20 mining participants and we can make accommodations for up to 125 Miners. All groups must have a reservation!! When a group is scheduled the staff at Cooper's Gem Stone Mine will have enough buckets, sluice screens and shovels prepared so when you arrive your group is ready to get started on the mining experience. The staff at Cooper's Gem Mine will provide our guests with a fun, short instructional speech to ensure every miner understands what to do and review some basic rules and regulations for the group. The staff will be on hand during your entire visit to answer questions, identify stones and assist in any other way during your visit. There are reservations made for pre-school, school groups, senior groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth groups for churches and community organizations and all other civic organizations. If your group is working for a geology  badge, if you make us aware of the requirements we will assist your group to achieve the goals needed during your visit to Cooper's Gem Stone Mine.   

The 2-Gallon Bucket will be discounted at the rate of $ 7.00 per bucket. In a group setting this bucket takes about one hour to complete. With this size bucket you will need to allot about two hours for your visit. Recommended for 3rd grade and up.

The 2-Quart Bucket will be discounted at the rate of $ 5.00 per bucket. In a group setting this bucket takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete. With this size bucket you will need to allot about 1.5 hour for your visit. Recommended for pre-school through 2nd grade, and for senior citizens.

We also have a small gift shop that we encourage the children to shop at during your group visit. The staff at Cooper's Gem Stone Mine work hard to find good deals that will fit any school age child budget. Remember, this is just another learning experience for the children in your group.

While making your reservation, please make us aware if your group will be eating a picnic lunch at our tables. This will aid us in providing you top quality attention and service during your visit to Cooper's Gem Stone Mine. 

 All groups will be charged tax, unless Cooper's Gem Stone Mine is provided with a copy of your organizations tax exempt form.
